Love of theatre restored

"I HAVE just returned from a most glorious holiday in Dubai where I had my love for the theatre restored.

I went to see a most excellent adaptation of the play The Blood Brothers which featured an all British cast.

I gave the play ten out of ten it was truly wonderful. My point being if only the many theatres in Essex could put on plays at this standard they would find the attendance would shoot up even in these days of hard and difficult times. One final observation the acting of Lisa Peace who played the role of Mrs Johnson was superb. Miss Peace is clearly a star of the future."

We do deserve better theatre

"I do agree with your recent letter writer about the theatres in Essex.

They really should improve the standards of the shows they present. I have on many occasions felt disappointedand left a theatre feeling let down at what i had just seen, dull and lacking in imagination are just two words which come to mind.

I agree with your correspondent about the potential of Lisa Peace. I saw her in the show Jail House Rock in the West Ennd some years ago and was impressed by her.

In fact if the show Cabaret is producted again by a theatre group min the near future Lisa would make an ideal Sally Bowles.

I cannot understand why she isn't a major star already."

"Just wanted to say what an outstanding performance you gave last night at the Madinat Theatre. I was with a friend who had her family visiting from England and who had seen the show in the West End and said your performance was the best they had seen. The whole production was brilliant but you definitely stood out as exceptional."
